Guideposts NEW Befriending for Wellbeing service is a friendly service for anyone looking for regular companionship, conversation and laughs, hobbies/activities, respite breaks, a listening ear or practical support with day to day living.
The Community Hub provides opportunities for adults with learning disabilities to make friends, develop skills, be creative, gain confidence and feel connected to their local community. Our friendly, experienced team work with individuals and others in their support network to develop a personalised support plan to focus on learning and development, and creative or social goals.
CONNECT is open to carers and cared for together, carers alone, anyone who has a long-term health condition, or anyone who is looking for social contact to make new connections and friendships. After the CONNECT group finishes, members are welcome to go for lunch together at a local pub or café.
The Zoom group for carers continues once a month and we invite different guest speakers to share experiences, tips and information about living with health conditions, hobbies, and other topics of interest. Carers have found it very informative and for those who cannot attend face to face sessions it is also a way of keeping in contact with others who are in a similar position.
Guideposts Information Support Service helpline is still open too. Now that people are out and about more but many are feeling anxious or low, the helpline and our website gives advice on how to address anxiety and improve wellbeing.

Cainscross WI
Meet 1st Tuesday of each month at St Matthew's Church Hall 7.15pm - for contact with the local federation click here

Cainscross WI 95th Birthday Party
We are a small, but friendly group, and our President kindly invited us to celebrate our 95th Birthday Party in her lovely garden in Ebley. The roses and Alstromeria were in full bloom and we were lucky with the weather. We enjoyed cheese, crackers, grapes and celery all washed down with wine or soft drinks and followed by ice creams and sweet biscuits.
The cake, in celebration of the life of Georgie Hall who sadly passed away last year, was cut twice. Firstly by past President and Senior Member Margaret Adams and secondly by current President Doreen Tucker and we must thank Doreen and husband Bryan for their hospitality. Members were so generous with donations of raffle prizes that everyone took a prize home with them.
We hope to meet up again soon, on the first Tuesday of August, government restrictions permitting and from then on every first Tuesday of the month at St. Matthew's Church Hall, Cainscross. Meetings start at 7.15pm and you would be very welcome to join us, either as a visitor, or new member and if more information is needed, please contact Mary on 01453 762812.
